Customs brokerage

Customs clearance at Port Botany
and Sydney Airport

Licensed brokers who lodge your import entry the same day the documents land — classification, duty, quarantine and the wharf clock all handled before they start costing you.

from A$165/entry
The service, properly

The paperwork side of importing

A container doesn't get stuck because of the freight — it gets stuck because of a wrong tariff code, a vague description on the commercial invoice, or a permit nobody applied for. Our job is making sure none of that happens to yours.

Andrew's been a licensed broker for fourteen years and clears everything from café equipment to film production gear. The practical difference: he reads your supplier's paperwork before the ship sails, not after the container lands.

  • Import entries lodged same-day on received docs
  • Tariff classification and duty minimisation review
  • Quarantine (DAFF) coordination and inspection bookings
  • GST-deferral advice for regular importers

Docs in before 14:00 mean the entry is lodged that day — in writing. If our classification causes a reassessment, the re-lodgement is on us.
What it costs

Clearance rates

Charged per entry, not per container value. Complicated shipments (multi-line entries, permits, quarantine holds) add the fees below — always disclosed upfront.

Duty and GST pass through at cost — we never mark up government charges. You'll see the ATO figures itemised separately on every invoice.

Step by step

From supplier invoice to released cargo

The whole thing hinges on getting documents early — everything else is sequence.

Shipping documents, packing list and bill of lading on a desk

Send the paperwork early

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading — the earlier it lands, the cheaper the exercise.

We check it properly

Descriptions, values, tariff codes. Issues get fixed with your supplier while the ship is still at sea.

Entry lodged

Into the ICS the day docs are complete — usually before the vessel berths.

Duty & quarantine

Charges calculated, inspections booked if flagged, everything coordinated by us.

Released and moving

Clearance confirmed, and — if you want — our trucks collect it straight off the wharf.

Records on file

Every document stored for your audit trail. ATO happy, accountant happy.

Other services we run

Same crew, same depot — different jobs.

The broker on your entry

Andrew joined us in 2022 after a decade broking for bigger firms — he left because he was tired of being the person clients never got to speak to.

Now he answers his own email. Complex classifications, quarantine holds, audit reviews — the weird stuff is what he actually enjoys.

Importers lose money to the wharf clock, not to duty rates. Documents early, entry early — that's the whole trick.

Questions

Customs questions

Import paperwork, answered plainly.

Commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading or air waybill. First-time importers also need an ABN registered for importing — takes the ATO ten minutes online, and we'll walk you through it.

Clean entries clear in a day — often within hours of lodgement. Quarantine holds or document problems are what stretch it; that's why we check everything before the ship arrives.

We coordinate the inspection booking, arrange the unpacking if needed, and handle the treatment or re-export paperwork if it comes to that. You get updates at each step, not silence.

That's the setup most clients use — clearance plus wharf collection plus delivery to our Mascot warehouse or straight to you. One invoice, one coordinator.
