Terms of Service

Terms of Service —
the rules of the road

What governs quotes, carriage, storage and payment when you use Route Prime Group. Written so a client can actually read it. Effective 1 January 2026.

The short version

The deal, minus the jargon

Every job runs on these terms: a written quote, the service we agreed, and an invoice that matches the quote. If you book with us — by email, form or phone — these are the conditions you're booking under.

Nothing below is designed to surprise anyone. Where the law gives you rights we can't contract out of — Australian Consumer Law mainly — those rights stand and these terms don't shrink them.

At a glance

  • Quotes valid 30 days, in writing
  • Standard cover: A$50,000 goods in transit
  • Invoices: 14-day terms for accounts
  • ACL rights fully preserved

Quotes and bookings

A quote is a fixed price for the job described — valid for 30 days unless the quote says otherwise. If the job changes (more weight, different access, new date), the price can change too; we'd tell you before the truck moves, not after.

Carriage of goods

We carry general freight. Dangerous goods, perishables, live animals and prohibited items aren't covered by standard rates — tell us upfront if your freight is unusual and we'll say plainly whether we can take it. Undeclared dangerous goods are the one thing that voids cover entirely.

Insurance and liability

Goods-in-transit cover to A$50,000 comes standard with every booking. Higher declared values can be arranged at a premium shown on the quote. Our liability is what the law and the cover say it is — we don't hide behind exclusions, but we do ask that fragile goods are packed for trucks, not shelves.

Storage

Stored goods stay insured under the same cover while they're in our warehouse. Stock is released against written call-outs from the account holder — we'll never release on a phone call alone, which protects you more than us.

Payment

Per-job clients pay on invoice after delivery. Account clients run 14-day terms on a consolidated monthly invoice. Late payments pause bookings rather than trigger penalty fees — talk to us early if a month is tight.

Cancellations

Jobs cancelled before dispatch cost nothing. Jobs cancelled after a truck is committed are charged the committed portion — deadhead kilometres aren't free, but they're charged at cost, not the full rate.

Delays and force majeure

Floods, fires, port strikes and pandemic-grade events aren't anyone's fault — transit times become estimates until things normalise. What doesn't change: we tell you what's happening, when we know it.

Terms questions

The clauses people ask about most.

Only if the job itself changes — more weight, different access, a new date. If that happens we reconfirm the number before the truck moves, never after.

Undeclared dangerous goods, live animals, and anything prohibited by law. Perishables and DG can sometimes be arranged as dedicated runs — ask first, always.

Free until a truck is committed to your job; after that, the committed portion is charged at cost. The detail lives in our refunds page.

Our other policies

Plain English, same as this one.

Policies are important — but a pallet that needs to be in Melbourne by Friday is more interesting. Send us the details.
