The real cost of a
warehouse pallet: a checklist
Everyone quotes the storage rate — A$26 a pallet a month sounds cheap. The costs that actually matter are the ones that touch your stock: receiving, handling and the pallets that never move.

Storage pricing is deceptive because the biggest number on the rate card is the smallest part of the bill. Here's the checklist we run through with new clients before they send the first pallet.
1. Storage is the cheap line
At A$26/pallet/month, ten pallets cost A$260 — less than most people's phone plans. If that were the whole cost, nobody would need a checklist. It isn't.
2. Receiving is where budgets start
Every pallet that comes in gets unloaded, counted, photographed and labelled — that's labour, and at A$9.50 a pallet it's still cheap, but a 22-pallet container unpack starts at A$420. The trap: stock that arrives unsorted takes twice the labour. A tidy supplier manifest genuinely cuts your bill.
3. Handling beats storage for active stock
Pallets that never move cost A$26 a month forever. Pallets that move weekly pick up a receiving fee in and a handling fee out. If your stock turns monthly, budget for roughly double the storage rate in touches — and if it turns weekly, you're really a fulfilment client wearing a storage hat.
4. Dead stock is the silent one
Every warehouse has them — pallets nobody's touched in a year, still quietly billing. A quarterly stocktake that flags anything unmoved for 90 days pays for itself. We'd rather tell you to ship it out than charge you to keep it; the rate's the same either way, but only one outcome is useful.

The quick maths
Ten pallets, one container intake a quarter, monthly call-outs: ballpark A$600–700 a month all-in at our rates. Any quote that's dramatically cheaper either isn't counting handling, or plans to make it up somewhere you haven't read yet.
The full storage service page has the live rate card — and the pricing page shows how it bundles with freight if you ship through us too.
